Queueing for food. Every order placed from a phone.
During the Euro Hockey League (EHL) weekend at the HC Oranje-Rood stadium, ticket holders scanned a QR code, ordered and paid on their phone, and picked up at the Food Corner when it was ready. Here is how the weekend went.
Every matchday beat the one before
The first pilot day at HC Oranje-Rood brought 48 orders. EHL Sunday brought 216. Seven matchdays in a row, each one busier than the last.
The three EHL days alone produced more than twice as many orders as all four matchdays of the first pilot combined.

Where it started
From 48 orders to 572
The first pilot matchday at HC Oranje-Rood, on 26 September, brought 48 orders.
Two weeks later, the EHL weekend brought 572.
The rush, hour by hour
The busiest hour was Sunday 14:00–15:00: 53 orders, every one placed from a phone.
Friday was an evening crowd, peaking at 47 orders between 19:00 and 20:00. Saturday ran steadily at 29 to 37 orders an hour from 13:00 to 17:00. Sunday came in two waves, at lunch and again at 14:00.

Of waiting, spent watching hockey instead of standing in line
At a normal food stand you wait for your order at the counter. With QuickServe, guests paid from their seat and only walked over when their phone said ready. Added up over the weekend, that is 51 hours of kitchen waiting time spent in the stands rather than in a line.
Half of all orders were in hand within 8 minutes of paying. The kitchen took a median 6.4 minutes; from the ready alert to pickup took a median 1.5.
51 hours = time from payment to the ready alert, summed over the 453 orders that recorded a ready time. The other 119 orders are left out, so the true total is higher.
One banner, half the weekend
Each QR code is tracked separately, so we can see exactly where guests started their order. A single banner, Banner 4, brought in 282 orders. Banners together accounted for 65%.
Placement matters: two of the four banners produced four orders between them.
Five-star ratings
After pickup, guests could rate their order with one tap. The average climbed every day: 4.14 on Friday, 4.50 on Saturday, 4.78 on Sunday.
22 ratings is a small sample, so we read it as a direction, not a verdict.
